Russian refineries are ready to increase production to meet the growing demand for gasoline and diesel fuel.
Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister for the Fuel and Energy Sector, said that domestic refineries have spare capacity to increase the production of petroleum products. He noted that the refineries are currently operating at full capacity, and thanks to solving problems with the rail delivery of products, the plants receive more raw materials and increase fuel production.
At the same time, Novak stressed that the construction of new refineries is not planned, since the country is actively pursuing a program of modernization and reconstruction of existing plants. He also recalled that the ban on the export of gasoline continues, but the export of diesel fuel is allowed.
