Tema Refinery in Ghana received two shipments of Russian oil in September.
Tankers for refineries of this African country sent LUKOIL and «Gazprom oil». The newspaper «Kommersant» says that Russia has not imported oil into Ghana in the last few years.
Sentuo of China owns Tema Refinery and intends to expand production capacity from the current 2 million tons of oil per year to 5 million tons in 2024.
As early as 2022, Ghana became one of the leaders of African countries in the purchase of Russian petroleum products, the country is actively buying petrol and diesel batches from oil workers from Russia.
Recall that the oil companies of the Russian Federation after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions reoriented the supply of oil and oil products from Europe to Asia and Africa. So far, the main consumers of black gold from Russia are India and China, and Russian fuel comes a lot to the Emirati hub in Fujairah, where it is blended and re-exported.
