Russia and the Republic of the Congo plan to sign a memorandum on the construction of an oil product pipeline in an African country in 2023 with the involvement of a Russian company, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov told TASS on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa summit.
Earlier, the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of the Congo, Georgy Chepik, said that the intergovernmental commission in September 2022 decided on the need to sign an intergovernmental agreement between the governments of Russia and the Republic of the Congo on a pipeline construction project between the largest cities of the African country – Pointe Noire and the capital Brazzaville. According to him, it is planned to create an enterprise for the implementation of the project and sign a concession agreement.
