The Chinese Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Zhang Hanhui, announced the intention of Russia and China to continue to develop trade in crude oil and other energy resources.
Zhang Hanhui noted that China opposes sanctions, including in the energy sector, and stressed the broad prospects for Russian-Chinese energy cooperation. Last year, China imported 107 million tons of Russian oil, and the volume of supplies in March 2024 approached the highest monthly figure in history.
“I am confident that with joint efforts, China and Russia will continue to support the healthy and stable development of trade in crude oil and other energy resources. In the face of fluctuations in the global energy market, China has always made a positive contribution to support global energy security,” said Ambassador Zhang Hanhui.
