In recent days, a delegation of applicants, including Qatari investors, held a meeting in Rome with the Minister of Environment and Energy Security of Italy, D. Piquetto-Fratin.

A group of advisers, which includes former Italian Prime Minister and ex-Foreign Minister M. D’Alema, presented to the government new applicants for the purchase of the LUKOIL-owned ISAB oil refinery in Priola on the island of Sicily. As the newspaper La Repubblica reported on December 9, we are talking, among other things, about Qatari businessman G. bin Saad Al Saad, who owns GSSG holding, and Italian investors.

A day earlier, on December 8, Reuters, citing sources, reported that LUKOIL and Crossbridge Energy Partners are close to concluding a deal to sell the ISAB refinery.

The amount of the transaction may amount to almost 1.5 billion euros, but its terms may still change.
