Belarus is counting on the early launch of a joint gas, oil and petroleum products market with Russia to create an equal and fair economic environment. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State.

The President noted that work in these areas is already underway, and in the near future it is planned to sign an agreement on the formation of a unified electricity market.

Negotiations on the creation of common hydrocarbon markets are continuing, while Russia already provides Belarus with significant preferences for the supply and transportation of petroleum products. The foundations for further integration are laid in the Union programs approved in 2021, which cover key economic areas.
