PSTU has developed a system for tracking the trajectory of drilling horizontal wells

Scientists at Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PSTU) have created a telemetry system to monitor the trajectory of drilling horizontal wells. The development allows you to follow a predetermined trajectory, reduce drilling time and ensure complete safety of the process in real time.

The system uses a fiber-optic gyroscope for precise navigation in high pressure and vibration conditions at depths up to 4 km. It transmits signals to the surface, informs about the position of the face and deviations from the route, which allows you to quickly adjust the work.

The project was implemented within the framework of the Priority 2030 program and has already been successfully tested.
