In 2023, Russian mining companies’ oil service costs rose by 12%.
The companies of the oil and gas sector of the Russian Federation spent about 2.7 trillion rubles as service costs. This is almost 12% more than in 2022, Interfax writes with reference to Rosstat. The Agency clarifies that the list of services considered, in particular, includes drilling of oil and gas wells, virtually all types of seismic field work and even fire protection measures at the fields.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the expenses of subsoil users for these purposes reached 796 billion rubles, whereas in the corresponding period of 2022 they were at the level of 692.5 billion rubles. At the same time, Rosstat reports an increase in commissioned oil wells: in 2023 — 7,133 thousand units against 6,152 thousand a year earlier. As for gas wells, 61 were commissioned in 2023, compared with 22 in 2022.
