The method will significantly reduce the accident rate of equipment and increase the efficiency of oil and gas production.

The researchers proposed using porous metal nanoplates as filters for removing solid particles. They created a mathematical model for the design of such plates, which considers humidity and the possibility of various deformations.

Scientists have developed a technology for designing “smart” materials with predetermined properties. Such materials based on porous nanoplates will be adapted to the aggressive environment in which the filters are located, high mineralization, temperature, pressure. Thanks to the use of the proposed model, filtration in the trunk of producing wells in the bottom-hole zone of the board will be carried out much better at the nanoscale, which will extend the service life of the equipment and increase the efficiency of production.

The technology will improve the purification of the extracted fluid – a mixture of water, gas, oil and condensate – from solid particles that get there as a result of drilling and production. High-quality cleaning is important in order, among other things, to extend the service life of pumps that pump fluid to the surface.

During operation, the filters become clogged. To clean the filters that are currently used in wells, it is necessary to regularly stop production operations. Thanks to the development of scientists, it is possible to increase the maintenance interval of filters. The use of “smart” material will allow to influence the filtration process: to simulate the process of accumulation of solid fractions, using the filter design to increase its effective capacity.
